Rossco’s Site Servicing (RSS), is a locally owned and operated company based in Narangba QLD, providing mobile and fixed plant maintenance, inspections, repairs and abrasive blasting across the Australian Eastern Coast.

Ross (Rossco) Poynton, who has over 35 years’ experience of proven servicing capabilities, is the business owner/Director of Rossco’s Site Servicing. As a proven Fitter, Ross has extensive experience in the quarrying and mining industries. Built on his ‘can do’ attitude Ross’s repertoire includes strengths in his ability to undertake a consultative approach, liaising extensively in the industry.

Our capacity to completely manage projects from conception to completion is founded on our wealth of diverse ‘hands on’ experience, at every stage. RSS builds and maintains strong relationships with customers, providing the highest standards of quality, service and integrity. Supported by the capabilities of a professional team of qualified tradespeople, RSS delivers cost-effective innovative quarry maintenance services.

History

First established in 1998, RSS has professional, practical and successful experience in providing Quarrying and Mining fixed plant machinery and equipment repairs and maintenance services. Our broad-based capabilities have seen Rossco’s Site Servicing gain an enviable reputation as a trusted expert and leader in site servicing and repairs.

The main source of competitive advantage for RSS has been the wealth of experience and talent of the Director himself in terms of proven capabilities, excellent reputation and delivery of service within agreed costs and timeframes.
Moving forward towards economic recovery post COVID, our aim was to continue to ensure that our service was not only efficient and reliable but also a comprehensive one that worked with individual site needs and requests.

RSS has a network of contacts with key clients from various settings from hard rock quarries, hard rock mining, coal mining. O.E.M .Clients have included: Alex Frasers Pty Ltd, Lafarge Holcim Pty Ltd, Hanson, Quarry Solutions Pty Ltd, Boral, CST Pty Ltd and Joest Pty Ltd
Aiming to meet demand and to provide diverse single-source solutions for clients in the quarrying sector, in 2020 Rossco’s Site Servicing (RSS) was excited to offer another branch to its services and expand its core business to incorporate abrasive blasting and protective coatings.

Safety

The safety of our people is the most critical responsibility we have. Each and every day, our people should come to work knowing that they will be safe.
We are fully committed to the development and training of our people to ensure they are sufficiently competent and able to carry out their roles safely. RSS undertakes to provide information and training to its people to ensure appropriate skill levels and safe work practices are adhered to. Whilst all employees are responsible for observing safe work practices and are encouraged to offer suggestions for improvements, RSS seeks continual improvement of on-site performance, including use of equipment and overall safety compliance.

RSS is committed to providing a safe and healthy work environment for its contractors, employees and customers and seeks the highest standards of compliance to all relevant state and national legislation.

Safety at a minimum

  • Meet the requirements of legislation and standards
  • Meet all safety compliance requirements such as risk assessments and JSAs, permits for high-risk work.
  • Complete site inductions, safety/toolbox meetings, Hazard checklists completed (Take 5)
  • Use of PPE, High visibility work uniforms, Worker identification, 2-way radios in all vehicles
  • Reflective vehicle identification, site traffic observations
  • Participate in health and safety education programs
  • Comply with audits and inspections
  • Completion of Isolation lockout training
  • Chest x-rays for Silicosis (as required)
